How you get the Hylian Shield in Zelda Tears of The Kingdom. The Hylian shield can be picked up near the beginning of the game. Its the most powerful shield there is, however it will not last forever. I will show you where to get the best shield after it breaks for a large sum of rupees.

Hylian Shield In Zelda Tears of The Kingdom

Step 1: Reach Hyrule Castle

Play through the game until you reach the main Hyrule area and the Lookout Landing. To begin, progress past the initial sky islands. Spot the castle from Lookout Landing and make it your objective. This is where the Hylian Shield can be found.

Step 2: Climb The Castle

Climb up the castle and head to the north side of the wall. Use the map to pinpoint the exact location.

Step 3: Find The Cave

Drop down into the cave that you find in the designated area. This cave will lead you to the Hyrule Castle Docks. Alternatively, you can enter the docks by swimming in from the water.

Step 4: Unlocking The Shield

Upon entering the docks, locate a torch. Light it up, and you will obtain the best shield in the game. This is a quick and easy method to acquire it early on.

Step 5: Getting A New Shield

Keep in mind that the shield will eventually break. To obtain a new one, you’ll need to invest some time and save up a significant number of rupees. Proceed to Hetano Village and find Cece. Engage in conversation with Cece to initiate a series of quests that eventually lead to the mayoral election.

Step 8: Do All Side Missions

Complete the following quests in Hetano Village in the specified order:

  • “Team Cece or Team Reed”: Gather mushrooms and distribute them among the villagers.
  • “Cece’s Secret”
  • “Dante’s Prize”
  • “A Signature Food”
  • “A Letter from Hetano”
  • “Reed’s Secret”
  • “Mayoral Election”

After successfully completing all seven quests in Hetano Village, Cece will offer to sell you the Hylian Shield. Furthermore, the completion of these quests unlocks the availability of the Hylian Armor for purchase.

Step 9: Buying The Shield

Purchase the Hylian Shield from Cece for a price of 3000 rupees. Although it may seem costly, the shield’s worth justifies the investment.

Congratulations! You have successfully obtained the Hylian Shield in Hyrule Castle. Enjoy its protection and durability throughout your adventures in the game.
